Meds Kit
We store our personal medicines in our meds kits. Nothing special it's just a place to keep things we might need to get us through the day. Generally we pack our first aid kit in the bottom of the pack, but the meds kit goes in the top pocket for easy access.
Packing Comments
- Aspirin
- Our drug of choice for headaches. Not only does it generally ease the pain, but it also thins the blood.
- Aleve
- Our drug of choice for pain. Tylenol runs a close second.
- Sinus
- We usually carry some form of decongestant to help with bogged down sinus (probably a generic Sudafed).
- Allergy
- I generally take some form of Claratin. Amy does not take any allergy medicines.
- Antacid
- I believe heartburn medicines help with acclimating. At altitudes I do not digest food the same as at lower altitudes and get heartburn. Pepcid AC works well for me. I also like to keep some Gas X and Bean-O on hand to help supplement our delicious freeze dried dinners.
- Prescription Drugs
- Naturally you need to carry all of the medications prescribed to you.
- Vitamins
- I take a few different types of vitamins regularly. I have a few deficiency from years of being a vegetarian. Amy does not regularly take vitamins.
