Hidden Springs Trail, page 2
Trail Notes
The Hidden Springs trail had a matrix of man made and animal trails criss-crossing the path. Look for the white blazes and signage.
The trail signs are aligned for walking the trail clockwise - go left to start the loop.
The Park's map is not adequate for navigating.
We did not see any horses, but there use was evident.
Most of the sinkholes and caves were exposed pit-like features. Keep a close eye on any children in the group. The area is in the backcountry and it is wild. There are no escalators!
The actual Hidden Springs feature is facinating. When we hiked the trail all of the water from the creek bed funneled into an opening. A well was also dug nearby where you can see the water running ten or so feet beneath the ground.
The area’s facilities were ample and seemed well maintained.
All the streams in the Park are intermittent - including the Hidden Spring.
Signs were posted that the Park was a ‘trash can free park.’ The signs advised taking trash to the dumpster.
The trail was not crowded.
The trail would be shaded in the summer.
